Roxanne Werner is a Page Turner Awards finalist with a background in freelance editing and short fiction. A New Jersey native transplanted to Louisville, Kentucky, she spent her youth haunting libraries and learning to write in Elvish—so she was hardly surprised when a “Gothmantasy” about the power of calligraphy crossed her mind.
Her short stories have appeared in several anthologies and earned her Author of the Month honors from Highlights. When she isn’t building mythic worlds or exploring the legends of the past, Roxanne can be found needle-felting in the company of her two literary rescue cats, Horace Rumpole and Lady Harriet Whimsey.
Werner’s short story "The Stroke of a Pen" appears in Not As It Seems: A Gothic Anthology (2025). Follow Werner on Instagram @roxannemwerner and her author website.
