Rick Ferguson lives in Uxbridge, Ontario, with his wife Terry and dog Ellie. Now retired from a forty-six-year career as a sheet metal worker and estimator, he spends his time with his true passion: writing fiction.

Ferguson self-published his first novel, The Ghosts in Maple Leaf Gardens, with iUniverse in 2013. The story is about Dale McCaine, a young player who was denied a chance to play for the Leafs, and the curse on the team that prevents them from winning the Stanley Cup. The ghosts of five former Leaf greats arrive to help end the curse for the team’s long-suffering fans.

Ferguson’s short story “Snowed Inn At Christmas” appears in Home for the Holidays: A ChristmasTime Anthology (2025). Follow Ferguson on Instagram @rickfergusonauthor and Facebook @theghostsinmapleleafgardens.
